Privacy Policy

Overview

Movie Wordle is operated as a browser-based game and does not require a user account. We process limited information to deliver pages, save game progress, understand aggregate use, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and keep the service available. This policy applies to Movie Wordle pages, games, archives, analysis articles, and related features.

Gameplay data and cookies

Game progress is saved in two places. The browser may keep local storage entries for guesses, revealed facts or clues, score-related state, completed results, and archive filters. The game server also sets a signed, HttpOnly cookie named with the mw-progress-frame or mw-progress-classic prefix for the current puzzle. This cookie lets the server restore and validate progress, does not contain an account identifier, and normally expires after 45 days. It is marked Secure on HTTPS and SameSite=Lax.

Local storage and gameplay cookies are functional technologies used to provide the game, not advertising technologies. You can remove local storage and cookies through your browser settings; doing so may remove saved progress. Clearing site data does not delete server logs or information you have sent to us.

Google Analytics

With your permission where required, Movie Wordle uses Google Analytics (measurement ID G-CVWJNP8JBS) to understand aggregate traffic and how pages and game flows are used. It may use cookies or similar technologies and receive page views, referral information, device or browser details, approximate location, and interaction events. Analytics is used for measurement, debugging, performance review, and product decisions; it is not used to reveal an in-progress answer. Google’s privacy information is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Movie Wordle uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and the Cloudflare Insights beacon for site performance and aggregate usage measurement. Cloudflare may process request, device, browser, and performance information to provide this service. This service is configured as a measurement and security aid and is not used by Movie Wordle to identify you by name. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Google AdSense is not currently active on Movie Wordle. If AdSense is enabled, this policy will be updated before advertising starts and Google and other third-party advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize ads based on your visit to this site and other sites. Google and its partners may collect or receive information such as browser, device, approximate location, ad interaction, and pseudonymous identifiers.

When AdSense is active, you can use Google Ads Settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads to opt out of personalized advertising. You may also visit https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ for additional choices about interest-based advertising. The live policy will identify the advertising providers and link to their privacy information.

Consent and privacy choices

Movie Wordle uses Google Consent Mode v2. Before a choice is made, analytics and advertising storage and the related ad-personalization signals are set to denied. If you choose to allow measurement or advertising, the relevant consent signals are updated; if you reject them, they remain disabled. A Privacy choices control is available in the site footer so you can change or withdraw your choice. Before Google AdSense is enabled, Movie Wordle will integrate a Google-certified consent management platform (such as Funding Choices with IAB Europe TCF support) for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. That platform will provide the required notices, choices, withdrawal controls, and consent records.

Technical information and logs

Hosting, Cloudflare security systems, and application logs may receive standard request information, including IP address, browser type, device characteristics, requested path, timestamps, referrer data, and diagnostic details. We use this information to operate the service, detect abuse, investigate errors, monitor uptime, and protect game integrity.

Support requests and disclosures

If you contact Movie Wordle at contact@moviewordle.com about support, rights, privacy, analytics, or advertising, we may retain the information you provide to review and respond. We may share information with service providers that host, secure, measure, or support the site, and when required to comply with law or protect the service. Please send only the information needed for the request.

Retention and your rights

Local gameplay data remains on your device until you remove it or your browser clears it. Gameplay cookies normally expire after 45 days. Server logs, analytics records, and support correspondence may be retained for the period reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, reporting, legal compliance, or administration. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Contact contact@moviewordle.com to make a privacy request; you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children and policy changes

Movie Wordle is not intentionally directed to children under 13. If we learn that personal information has been collected from a child in a way that requires action under applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to address it. We may update this policy when the service, analytics configuration, consent platform, or advertising features change; the current version will be posted on this page.
